The energy transition involves not only producing low-carbon energy but also adapting energy infrastructure accordingly. As a key player in gas transmission in France and Europe, NaTran has aligned its NaTran2030 business plan with this ambition: to become a leading European operator in the transmission and logistics of renewable and low-carbon gases, hydrogen and CO₂.

The company is undergoing a transformation, and the people who make up its workforce are actively preparing for the transition of its long-standing network. The aim is to become a key player in low-carbon energy infrastructure in France and across Europe, working towards carbon neutrality, security of supply and regional development.

• Renewable and low-carbon gases, including biomethane,  
• Renewable, low-carbon hydrogen,
• CO₂.  

With a clear objective: to adapt its infrastructure to accommodate and transport increasing volumes of renewable gas, in line with the 2050 roadmap.

Through our network, we support the development of all renewable and low-carbon gas production sectors:

• Anaerobic digestion (biomethane produced from agricultural residues, livestock manure and other organic matter)
• Pyrogasification (renewable gas from solid waste)
• Hydrothermal gasification (renewable gas from liquid waste)

As set out in our Articles of Association, our mission statement – “Together, enable a secure, affordable energy future that is climate-neutral” – places our CSR policy at the heart of our priorities.

It is implemented through a wide range of initiatives relating to climate action, biodiversity, responsible procurement and skills.

It is underpinned by robust governance, a committed team and a strong link with senior management.  

The Head of CSR and Environment reports directly to the Chief Executive on the various initiatives undertaken and keeps the Executive Committee and the CSR Committee of the Board of Directors informed.

The CSR department is responsible for overseeing the new CSR policy adopted in 2025, ensuring its implementation and measuring its effectiveness.

This proactive and structured CSR approach is recognised as a key pillar of the company’s overall performance.

It is structured around four strategic priorities:

• Fulfilling our role as an energy logistics provider efficiently and responsibly;
• Designing and operating infrastructure that respects global boundaries;
• Cooperating on the energy transition at regional level;
• Engaging with our employees and suppliers;
• With a clear objective: to reduce our carbon footprint by 40% by 2030 (compared with 2019).
