As part of its Purchasing Policy, NaTran takes actions to ensure supplier relations are ethical, sustainable and transparent, in connection with its ethics and compliance policy.

Ethical principles for supplier relations

NaTran constantly strives to build ethical relations with its suppliers. To this end, it has set out 5 principles to guide supplier exchanges:

  • Principle 1: strict compliance with internal regulations and standards,
  • Principle 2: act fairly, transparently and impartially,
  • Principle 3: guarantee confidentiality,
  • Principle 4: refrain from all conflicts of interest,
  • Principle 5: reject all corrupt practises (gifts and invitations).

NaTran is a signatory to the Supplier Relations Charter

Launched in 2015 and updated in 2022 by the National Purchasing Council (CNA) and the Business Mediator of the Ministry of the Economy, this charter commits NaTran to applying good responsible purchasing practices and establishing a culture of dialogue with its suppliers, particularly with small and medium-sized enterprises.

This ambition is broken down into 10 concrete commitments, which range from meeting payment deadlines, encouraging innovation, CSR assessment and monitoring dependency situations.

NaTran is committed to protecting the environment and decarbonising its procurement

NaTran’s target of a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 (compared with 2019) requires a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of its procurement. NaTran’s suppliers are encouraged to reduce the carbon footprint of their operations and to propose eco-friendly alternatives in their responses to tenders.

NaTran supports small businesses in their decarbonisation efforts

NaTran encourages its suppliers to apply for the ‘Décarbon’action’ scheme offered by BPI France and ADEME to help them reduce their carbon footprint.

This programme offers support to small businesses to help them carry out a carbon assessment, jointly develop an ecological transition plan and implement initial measures.

NaTran is committed to supporting small businesses and sheltered and adapted workplaces

NaTran supports the employment of people with disabilities by sourcing part of its purchases from businesses in the sheltered and adapted employment sector (STPA).

Another of NaTran’s commitments to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs): NaTran contributes to local economic vitality and the economic attractiveness of regions by sourcing just over 25% of its purchases from SMEs by 2025, and pays particular attention to suppliers who are, or may find themselves, in a situation of economic dependence on NaTran.

An initiative to improve suppliers’ liquidity

Since 2017, NaTran has been running a ‘Reverse Factoring’ programme in partnership with BNP Paribas Factor. Simple and flexible, this financing solution enables NaTran’s suppliers to receive early payment of their invoices on favourable terms.

For more information and to join the programme, call the hotline on 04 65 06 00 07 or send an email to BNP Paribas Factor Supplier Info.

NaTran mesure la satisfaction de ses fournisseurs

In 2024, the fifth edition of the supplier survey confirmed the high level of satisfaction with their collaboration with NaTran. As part of this, NaTran surveyed more than 200 suppliers of all sizes across all procurement segments: over 80% of companies say they are satisfied with working with NaTran; security standards, the quality of communication and adherence to payment terms are particularly praised.
