To manage its own performance, the company must manage its suppliers.

Purchase segmentation

Purchases are divided into three main categories:

  • Engineering and Maintenance Purchases,
  • General Purchases,
  • IT Purchases.

Then into segments and sub-segments: C4Gas, our subsidiary, purchases tubes, valves, flanges, and shaped parts, while the rest of the purchases are managed internally by NaTran.

Purchasing: main responsibilities

The Purchasing department handles general purchases and those necessary for projects, maintenance of structures, information systems, and telecommunications.

Its role is to:

  • Design and manage strategic purchases.
  • Ensure supplier sourcing, in particular via active monitoring and benchmarks.
  • Check the supply market.
  • Monitor and develop suppliers’ performance.
  • Set up framework contracts or spot contracts.

Different types of contract

NaTran distinguishes between two types of contracts: ordinary contracts and framework contracts.

  • For ordinary contracts, the service provider undertakes to deliver goods, carry out work, or provide a service to NaTran in return for payment.
  • In the case of framework contracts, their execution requires the issuance of one or more orders.
