Purchasing at NaTran
To manage its own performance, the company must manage its suppliers.
Purchase segmentation
Purchases are divided into three main categories:
- Engineering and Maintenance Purchases,
- General Purchases,
- IT Purchases.
Then into segments and sub-segments: C4Gas, our subsidiary, purchases tubes, valves, flanges, and shaped parts, while the rest of the purchases are managed internally by NaTran.
Purchasing: main responsibilities
The Purchasing department handles general purchases and those necessary for projects, maintenance of structures, information systems, and telecommunications.
Its role is to:
- Design and manage strategic purchases.
- Ensure supplier sourcing, in particular via active monitoring and benchmarks.
- Check the supply market.
- Monitor and develop suppliers’ performance.
- Set up framework contracts or spot contracts.
Different types of contract
NaTran distinguishes between two types of contracts: ordinary contracts and framework contracts.
- For ordinary contracts, the service provider undertakes to deliver goods, carry out work, or provide a service to NaTran in return for payment.
- In the case of framework contracts, their execution requires the issuance of one or more orders.
