Appointment of Frédéric de Bourmont: mission and presentation of the Industrial Assets department

NaTran has appointed Frédéric de Bourmont as Director of Industrial Assets, a member of NaTran’s Executive Committee. The Industrial Assets Department (DAI) plays a crucial role in the execution of the NaTran 2030 corporate strategy :
- focusing on ensuring industrial safety,
- optimising the management of industrial,
- assets and designing infrastructure dedicated to the transmission of hydrogen and CO₂.
These initiatives, alongside the development of biomethane within the network, support the achievement of a carbon-neutral gas model by 2050.

Presentation of the Industrial Assets Department (DAI)
The DAI supports the entire lifecycle of NaTran’s industrial infrastructure: design, construction, renovation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning. It brings together 1,000 dedicated men and women committed to driving and achieving the transformation of infrastructure in support of the energy transition. Backed by its technical and scientific expertise, the DAI is paving the way for the company’s future and cementing NaTran’s position as a key player in the energy transition within the gas sector.
With over 25 years of experience in the energy and industrial sector, Frédéric de Bourmont possesses proven expertise in operations, engineering, R&D, health and safety, and industrial security.
Frédéric de Bourmont’s career path
Frédéric de Bourmont began his career at Gaz de France in 1998 as a Quality and Safety Engineer at the Saint-Clair-Epte storage facility in Val d’Oise. From 2001, within the Transport division of Gaz de France (now NaTran), he took on the role of Regional Manager for gas transmission in the Lower Normandy region and the Le Havre industrial zone.
- In 2004, he was appointed Head of the R&D Distribution unit at Gaz de France.
- In 2007, Frédéric de Bourmont became Head of Engineering for the Paris region at GRDF, responsible for the modernisation of the network.
- In 2010, he joined GDF SUEZ University, overseeing leadership and strategy development programmes for executives of the newly formed group following the merger of Gaz de France and SUEZ.
- In 2014, he joined ENDEL ENGIE as Gas Development Director, and in 2019, Frédéric de Bourmont was promoted to Regional Industry Director for Ile-de-France Centre.
- In 2021, he joined Engie Solutions as Director of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) and Operational Performance.
- In 2022, Frédéric de Bourmont was appointed HSE Director of ENGIE BiOZ, before QHSE Director of Renewable Gas Europe in 2023.
Aged 52, Frédéric de Bourmont graduated in 1996 from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Hydraulique et de Mécanique in Grenoble. He gained invaluable experience during his military service in 1997, serving as a Reserve Officer Cadet in the French Navy.
