Three new ZIBaC (low-carbon industrial zone) partnerships
In 2024, work and partnerships under the ZIBaC (low-carbon industrial zone) project calls continued. Building on the momentum of the Fos and Chalampé initiatives in 2023, three new partnerships were launched this year to explore CO2 networks linked to carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) projects:
- the GoCO2 Project, focused on evaluating CO2 logistics chains (CO2 hubs) in the Montoir/Saint-Nazaire area, involves CO2 capture from cement production sites, with the goal of transporting the CO2 to port areas.
- the DECLYC (DECarboner Lyon vallée de la chimie) project brings together chemical and petrochemical companies in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
region, particularly within the Greater Lyon area, to carry out decarbonisation studies, focussing on CO2 capture, storage and transport.
- the SOCRATE project in Normandy, which plans to launch studies for pipeline-based CO2 transport network infrastructure projects.
